Biographical or Historical Note: Hannah Bacon Evans (1839-1939) was the daughter of Thomas Evans (1798-1868) and Catharine Wistar (c. 1801-1871).

Scope and Content Note: This is a collection of approximately 150 letters from Hannah Bacon Evans written between 1888 and 1923, primarily to Edith Silver, but also to other family members. The letters mainly focus on Evans's family life and visits from friends, but in some letters she refers to current events. The collection also includes seven disks containing transcriptions of the letters.
